⚠️ IMPORTANT TRAVEL CHECK

Border crossings can open, close or change their entry requirements without notice. A crossing appearing in this guide does not guarantee that it is currently open to your nationality or available for tourist travel. Always check current immigration and government travel advice before setting out.

🛂 BORDER CROSSING GUIDE

Your step-by-step guide from leaving one country to entering the next.
1 📄 Prepare Before Leaving
Have your passport, visa or e-Visa, arrival forms, accommodation details and onward travel information ready.

Keep important documents easily accessible rather than buried inside your main luggage.
2 🚶 Go To The Correct Border
Make sure you are travelling to an international immigration checkpoint authorised for your type of crossing.

Not every local border gate is available to foreign tourists.
3 🛂 Exit Immigration
Present your passport and any required departure documentation.

The immigration officer records your departure from the country.

Do not leave the immigration area until your exit has been processed.
4 🧳 Customs
Follow the signs for customs.

Declare anything that is required under the country's customs regulations.

Keep receipts or permits for restricted or controlled goods where applicable.
5 🌉 Cross The Border
Follow the official route between the two immigration zones.

Depending on the crossing, this may involve walking, a bridge, shuttle bus, train, boat or other authorised transport.
6 🛃 Enter Immigration
Present your passport and entry documentation.

You may be asked about your accommodation, purpose of travel, length of stay and onward journey.
7 📱 Complete Arrival Requirements
Some countries require an arrival card, electronic immigration declaration or other digital registration.

Complete the official requirement before proceeding if instructed by immigration.
8 🧳 Collect Your Belongings
Collect your luggage and proceed through the relevant customs channel.

Follow either the declaration channel or the applicable no-declaration channel as instructed.
9 📱 Check Your Entry Stamp / Record
Before leaving the immigration area, check that your passport stamp or electronic entry record appears correct.

If something appears incorrect, ask immigration immediately.
10 🎒 Continue Your Journey
Once you have officially entered the country, continue to your onward transport, hotel or destination.

Keep your passport secure and accessible during the remainder of your journey.
